Influence of Phytoecdysteroid on Weight of Ovary and Weight of Egg of Multivoltine Mulberry Silkworm Bombyx mori Linn

چکیده
Effect of phytoecdysteroid on weight of ovary and weight of egg of multivoltine mulberry silkworm Bombyx mori was studied. Variation in the phytoecdysteroid concentration and number of larval treatment (treated the larvae) influenced the weight of ovary and weight of B. mori eggs. Experiments were performed by 40, 50, 60 and 70% concentration of phytoecdysteroid obtained from Achyranthes leaf extract. A control set was always maintained with each set of experiment. Number of larval treatment significantly (P < 0.05) 2 influenced the weight of ovary and weight of egg. Maximum weight of ovary (0.330±0.067 gm) and weight of egg (0.398±0.092 mg) was noticed to be in case of double treatment (IV and V instar larvae were treated) by th th 60% phytoecdysteroid and minimum was recorded in triple treatment (III , IV and V instar larvae were treated) rd th th by 70% phytoecdysteroid concentration. Phytoecdysteroid treatment, if applied tactfully, may be useful for boosting up the sericulture industry as well as the economy of silkworm rearing.

Biochemical and bioassay studies on the influence of different organic manures on the growth of Mulberry Variety V1 and silkworm, Bombyx mori Linn.
The genetic variation and diversity among fifty-eight polyvoltine silkworm genotypes was estimated by using ten economic traits. The results revealed that the single shell weight showed higher genetic variation such as PCV% (17.20%), GCV% (12.93%), and heritability (56.5%) followed by single cocoon weight, shell ratio and matured larval weight. The D2 (Mahalonobis? distance) statistics reveal...

The influence of moisture content of mulberry leaf on the growth, development and moisture build up in the body of silkworm was studied by feeding with different maturity leaves to late age of silkworm larvae. Significantly higher larval moisture (79.78%), larval weight (65.65 g), pupal moisture (73.81%) was recorded in top tender leaf (high moisture) fed batches and least was recorded in the c...

The effect of fungicides on silkworm larvae was analyzed with regard to the fact that these beneficial insects are usually affected by fungicides, Daily feeding on 1 and 2g/liter of carbendazim, a systemic fungicide, did not have significant effects on larval and pupal mortality. However the weight of the treated larvae showed considerable weight decrease up to 37% weight.. All the economic tra...
